The Career Development
Group is nationally recognized for advancing the careers of family
medicine teachers, researchers, clinicians and leaders through:
- Integration
Build integrative links that advance select programmatic areas
and best practices
- Collaboration
Promote effective partnerships that maximize opportunities to
create and disseminate scholarship locally and nationally
- Enrichment
Stimulate an enriched learning culture within the DFCM that both
challenges and supports its members.
CDG Projects
Center for
Ambulatory Teaching Excellence (CATE) In partnership with MCW's
Office of Educational Services, CATE disseminates scholarly projects
and products that advance clinical teaching. Nationally disseminated
publications include The Educator's Portfolio, The Mentor Handbook

Academic
Leadership Seminar series is a collaboration between the Academic
Fellowship program and MCW's Graduate School. Courses in this series
include: Effective Communication, Leadership for Change, and Managing

Annual Winter
Refresher Course CME Conference: DFCM Faculty and other regional
experts present clinical updates and recognize volunteer community

DFCM Annual
Research Forum (RF) is a peer reviewed forum with podium and
poster presentations of clinical, education, research, and other
scholarship. The late spring event includes departmental award presentations
such as clinical teacher of the year and published paper of the
