Joined CSM: 2002 Medical School: Rush Medical College Residency: St. Paul Ramsey Medical Center, St. Paul, MN Previous Experience: Doctor’s Without Boarders, refugee clinics across the globe, health service sites within many African-American, Indian and Spanish speaking communities and serving on the Governor’s Public Health Council Special Interests: International health care, human rights, community medicine, community health curricula for medical students and resident physicians. Testament: I love to present the patient not just as a sick person but as an individual living in the larger community. Often, these communities contain a great deal of poverty and other social barriers. As a resident recognizes this, they become more cognizant of the interplay between individual and community health. |
