Bordered on the east by Lake Michigan and located between Milwaukee and Chicago, Racine boasts sandy beaches, tree-lined neighborhoods, music and ethnic festivals, year-round sports, and outstanding educational opportunities.
Racine is large enough to offer a wide range of services and recreational and cultural attractions, but small enough to get to know it well. Relax at the theater, the symphony, or the art museum. For outdoor and sports enthusiasts there's swimming, sailing, fishing and boating, as well as downhill and cross-country skiing, golf, tennis, and softball. Professional sporting events occur year-round in Chicago, Milwaukee, and Green Bay - all close enough to make for a fun day-long outing.
Educational opportunities abound, from the public and private school systems to colleges and universities, including the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Carthage College in neighboring Kenosha, and Gateway Technical College in Racine, Kenosha, and Elkhorn. A variety of other colleges and universities can be found in both Chicago and Milwaukee, both only a short drive away.
Racine is home to international corporations like SC Johnson, CNH, Modine Manufacturing Company, and Young Touchstone. Nearby Kenosha is headquarters for several international firms including Snap-On Tools and Jockey International, Inc. Enjoy a small town feeling with big city opportunities. Racine provides residents with both.
