Practice Experience: During fellowship served as an instructor in the 1st year Introduction to Medical Decision Making class at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School. Also served as junior faculty with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center - St. Margaret Family Medicine Residency. During this time he was one of the leaders of their medical informatics, medical decision making and healthcare quality curricula.

Other: Board Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Interests: Procedural Medicine, Student and Resident Education, Medical Informatics, Evidence Based Medicine, Preventive Healthcare, Continuous Quality Improvement in Healthcare

Residency: Racine Family Practice Residency in Racine, Wisconsin.

Others: Prior to obtaining a graduate degree in Applied Molecular Biology and an undergraduate degree in Biological Science from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Dr. DeGroat served 20 years in the United States Army, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He worked as a Special Forces Operational Team Medical Specialist and Faculty/Instructor for Emergency and Trauma Care Recruiting and Retention.

Karen Hulbert, MD

Residency: St. Paul Ramsey Medical Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Practice Experience: Dr. Hulbert worked as a Family Practice Physician with Obstetrics in the U.S. Navy and in private practice.

Other: Her teaching experience includes training medical personnel at various levels while on active duty in the U.S. Navy and working with Physician Assistant students in-training.

Interests: Women’s Health, Adolescent Medicine, Medical Ethics, Family Violence (Child and Spouse Abuse) and Preventive Medicine at the local community level.

Lynn C. Jenkins, DO

Residency: Family Practice Residency in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Practice Experience: Dr. Jenkins practiced full spectrum family medicine as a locum tenens physician for six years in many rural areas and territories of the United States. This experience became the impetus for a one-year fellowship in Tacoma, Washington, in rural family medicine with emphasis and training in high-risk and operative obstetrics.

Beth Musil, PharmD

Residency: Prior to joining the Racine Family Medicine Residency, Dr. Musil has practiced as a clinical pharmacist in both the hospital and community pharmacy settings, as a manager of a clinic pharmacy, and as a disease management specialist in asthma, smoking cessation, and diabetes.

Interests: Faculty, student, and resident education in pharmacotherapy; Patient Education in Asthma; Diabetes; Cardiovascular Disease; Smoking Cessation; and Interdisciplinary Team Care.
